What is the trend in electric guitar prices? Apparently, the trend is downward.
I see a Gibson Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior can be had for $1,399.00 from several web sites. I ordered one from a leading website two years ago and paid $1,616.00. March 2006 to be more exact.
Web sites are always promoting price drops, but today’s specials are for real.
In Canada, music stores still have a few 2008 models in stock. The exchange rate between the Canadian dollar and the U.S. dollar has fluctuated a lot in the past 2 years. Today’s sale price in Canada reflects the (better) exchange rate when the store owner bought the guitar. In other words, the sale price is often last years’ price. That’s still a good deal.
So, now is the time to buy an electric guitar. Unless you are looking to get a job first.
